strange USB Problem

Moin,

I want to connect my Zaurus via USB to a server (well, I call it 'server'. 
It's just a Linux box running 24/7). But by plugging the USB connector into
the socket I get:

This is strange, because USB is working fine at this 2.6.18 machine. I tried 
this with two other computers. A old DELL notebook (kernel 2.6.13) with USB 
1.1, and here I get a good connection so I can use the USB cable for IP 
trafifc.

Well, unfortunately I have to connect the zaurus to the machine that cause 
trouble. I would buy a 2nd. USB card, but will this work without problems? 
Can it be a software problem? Something with the kernel or the module?
