Oh, indeed - QTE is GPL or proprietary only, so if I want any 
modifications I make to get back into the base distribution, I need to 
explicitly license it to Trolltech. The downside to this is that it 
makes it very difficult for Trolltech to benefit from community work. 
Producing a GPLed version that was more featureful than the proprietary 
one would be an awkward business policy, so we end up with things like 
the slightly weird Opie/Qtopia split.

"Linux" as opposed to Windows or MacOS X versions - they've never been 
released under the QPL, to the best of my knowledge.

(I'd tend towards "hypocrisy" rather than "irony", really. Criticising 
Nokia for something that your own company claims the right to do under 
certain circumstances is a bit excessive)
