I really think and hope that Opie has a future. Porting it to qt4 would be
the best way to go in my mind. How different is qt4 from the current
version that Opie uses? I'm doing some GSM development work for familiar
this spiring, and would like to build a Opie GUI if it will be usable with
qt4. Will it?

I might be of help even here. I'm currently doing some work for a small
Norwegian company trying to put together a PDA/Laptop product much like
the Sharp SL series (only slimmer, faster and alot more sexy) with
keyboard, bt, GSM, wlan, mmc etc. It would be the perfect device for Opie!

We are trying to pick out linux-supported chips, and would like to offer
it with the choise of either linux/familiar/Opie or WinCE installed.

I think Opie is great! Let's keep going, get over that qt4 bump, solve
those unsolved tasks and make a sexy, simple, stable and useable
linux-based GUI for PDA's and Smartphones!! Are you with me? Yey on ney?
