hi lorn,

where did I toss the nane of Trolltech? I knew you would reply to
this sentence anyway. So I had to make a choiche either wait for your
famous "Opie is incompatible" FUD or avoid this. I chose to avoid
this FUD. And I have no hatred for Trolltech, I'm a happy user of Qt
2,3,4.

Check opie/core/launcher/applauncher.cpp (almost unmodified from
Qtopia1.7 with some bugfixes, ARM and Target fixes). Search for
Heartbeat. Basicly a Heartbeat (QCOP) will be send and the
QPEApplication will respond with a appRaise(QString) answer. If this
answer is not coming in time the message box you have described will
be shown (after the timeout).

Looking at library/qpeapplication.cpp (searching for appRaised)
showed that it should answer with appRaised anyway. At least you now
know which parts needs to be looked at. I would start searching the Q
(PE)Application of Xqt to find the answer.

regards
	h.

PS: I'm still happy wearing a Trolltech T-Shirt
