Hi. How you set QWS_KEYBOARD? Is this variable exported? You can check in /proc/$(pidof qpe)/fd/ whether is /dev/input/event1 and /dev/input/event2 openned. If not, you must export QWS_KEYBOARD before you run opie - for example in /etc/profile.d/opie_defaults.
