Cannot allocate memory error

Hi all,
  I cross compiled OPIE-1.2.2 with Qt-2.3.10 for IPAQ
configuration to run on my custom embedded SOC board.
 The gui does come up but its too slow and when i
touch any app(quicklauncher by itself) it complains
error while loading shared libraries:
/opie/lib/libqte.so.2: cannot make segment writable
for relocation: Cannot allocate memory

 I does sound like some problem with QT emb library
but it occurs from OPIE and i thought this community
wud be in better position to undestand my problem.
