There's basically three tasks:

1.) update -- this is an easy task that only is necessary when something
in Opie changes, i.e. you make a release. Zecke has a script for that
which he may upload to OE/contrib/opie

2.) test -- this is a straigtforward task that is regularly necessary to
see whether opie still does build in OE for different machine / distro
configurations.

3.) integration -- this is a challenging task that needs keeping track
with low level developments -- i.e. various linux subsystems like
pcmcia, udev, bluetooth, ... and their incarnition in OE to make sure
Opie plays well with the base system.

There are people in the OE community who will assist in solving
problems, but there is someone from the Opie community necessary to take
over the wheel (and frankly... a bit of the responsibility that's
attached to this position).
