How many people want to develop for Qt 2.x?? Nevermind does it is X11 or 
Embedded version. From time to time someone new appear with question 'how 
to write application for OPIE' or 'I want to port my app to OPIE' but 
when they hear 'qt 2.x' they go away telling that we are mad and insane 
to use such old library as base.

Developers want qt 3 or qt 4 as base and this is what opieII will give us. 
After trying to use qt/x11 4 I know that I will not write anything for 
qt2 because with qt4 I have much less things to care about. No need to 
learn sqlite API because qt4 take care of it, better XML implementation 
etc..

Then we go to apps, games etc - KDE is moving to qt4 now, they simplified 
their core libs because more and more stuff is used from qt4. I will be 
not suprised when some of KDE games, apps will get easy to build for 
opieII without fetching lot of KDE code. 

And I want APPS, GAMES which are MAINTAINED! Not 4 years old crap written 
for first Sharp contest and never changed. I'm tired of QVGA sized stuff, 
several hacked versions of hacked version with so sick buildsystems that 
are easier to rewrite then use.

How many of them are maintained? When you are user/developer you do not 
care about it - you do hunt for sources and get it build for own usage. 
But as distro maintainer I care about such thing - if user report bug in 
application who will fix it? Usually no one..

I want to look at KDE4 when it will be released. Qt4 needs it to get 
popularity. Then we will look which apps can we get working under opieII.

OPIE does not do what I want - it does not allow me to connect to many 
WiFi networks due to lack of WPA support, it lack web browser, lack good 
looking games (I have VGA screens mostly).

And there is one more thing - opieII will be qt/e 4 but I wonder how much 
work will be needed to make it working with qt/x11 4 :)
