deprecated applications

Anyone have a list of applications which should be deprecated?

I just got done looking at the code in noncore/tools/remote and it is
obvious that it doesn't work and should be deprecated.

I would like to get a handle on what is going to be marked deprecated in
the next release and then deprecated in the release after that.

BTW, if any of you want remote to survive - better send patches.
