So it goes through each serial port on a handheld and attempts to figure
out what is there? I don't see what opietooth/manager does the same as
the applet does.

I am willing to open a bug that says bluetooth manager should be able to
deal with h2200 devices and make it a blocker of 1.2.3. But only if we
think we will actually get it worked on in a reasonable amount of time
(like 3 weeks).

OK, but for this release it would be nice if we did support h2200
bluetooth w/out having to make Opie know anything about MTD.

Although I appreciate your point that bluetooth manager should be able
to help the user actually manage their bluetooth system, I don't see how
its lack of control of a config file should stop users from actually
using bluetooth. We should stick to capability, not policy.

I am still not convinced that we should stop the applet from getting the
capability of supporting h2200 et al because the manager does not make
it possible for the user to manipulate a system file that it maybe
shouldn't be messing with in the first place. Let's open a bug for the
bluetooth manager features you envision and make them part of a 1.2.4
release. And lets get this applet patch applied. I swear I will help
Dmitriy resolve any bugs that spring out of applying the applet patch.
