FWIW, I just tried these packages and unfortunately they don't help. Discovery 
works but sending and recieving is broken. I have created bug #1854 and added 
it as a child of the 1.2.3 release bug.

This is a regression and we really need to fix this, and in fact it is 
basically the only thing stopping us from releasing 1.2.3 - if it comes to it 
we can skip the other IR bug (#1829) IMO since that is not a regression. If 
we don't do this then all of our recent work is for naught.

Dmitriy, please let me know if you can work on fixing this soon, and/or let me 
know if I can help (I may need some assistance getting Opie bluetooth to 
enable on my PC so I can start debugging - Opie's bluetooth manager can scan 
just fine but I can't enable bluetooth from the applet). Anyone else is 
welcome to step up and help out as well.
