I'll close the deprecation bug today (after you all let me know what you
think of my latest note). Then we can tag an 1.2.3rc1. I don't think we
need an rc2 unless a big bug crops up. How long do we need to wait to
let distribution builders catch up? Maybe 2 weeks?
