Hello,
I want to install xcas - it works under gpe -> bad luck, cause I prefer Opie.
So I looked around and found a way on openzaurus, s. below. I tried this
way because it doesn't seems to be hardware specific (I use an ipaq 5400)
1. I installed the newest familiar with opie (22. dec 05 I have in mind)
2. I changed ipkg.conf and upgraded
3. I follow
http://openzaurus.sourceforge.net/wordpress/howto-german/opie-gpe-gleichzeitig/
(there is an english version but I followed the german one)
I added only the feed from the snapshot of familiar v0.8.3
I don't use -force-depends
-> so far it works, after a reboot opie and gpe are running, opie on vt3
which is in the foreground and gpe on vt2 in background.
I can switch to gpe by chvt 2 (and back to opie by chvt 3)
gpe shows one error: failed to open connection to system message bus ...
When using gpe, sometimes the light switches of and sometimes the ipaq completely
switches of. I guess this is due to the fact, that opie runs in backgound and
switches the light of (if I shut down opie via /etc/init.d/opie stop I don't see
that the light goes off).
So my question: how can I switch off opies light-control? - I would like to do this from
the console.
Thanks
karsten
