I was given a dead IPAQ 3850, which I installed a new battery and installed Opie 1.2.0, Familiar 0.8.2 last week. So I am a newbie to Opie.

I am a little disappointed since I thought I was getting all of the applications that were shown in the screenshots mentioned on the web site, but I figured it was a space thing and Linux is configurable to each user needs.

I eventually figured out how to configure WinXP (Sorry I need it at work) to communicate with the Ipaq, using the Windows 2000 PPP Howto.

Now what!!

I can not get it to connect to the HTTP://familiar.handhelds.org servers listed in the Package Manager in Opie. The Ipaq has an IP address (192.168.0.5) and the Desktop has an IP address (192.168.0.6) like the example. It looks like the gateway is different then the NIC card IP Address and the NIC Address is 192.196.100.*) Is this the connection problem to the Familiar site.

Is there a way to download site and save them on my desktop computer, then transfer then to the Ipaq and the install them. What commands are needed to do this operation.

Either way: Through the Package Manager or manually download would be fine with
me.

Many thanks in advance.
