Try it from the commandline instead. Just open up your Opie Console, and
type:

ipkg update

This will update your list of available pacages. Now, find the package you
are looking for.

ipkg list | grep vnc

Next, you can install it:

ipkg install -dest <dest> <package>

<dest> should be something like "root" or "home". The actual locations can
be found (and modified) in /etc/ipkg.conf

If you choose something else than "root", you need to run

ipkg-link add <package>

After that, you can use the "refresh desktop icons" script on the Settings
tab to update your UI.
