As a novice user of OpenZaurus and Opie, I just installed Opie on a Zaurus C3100, using the 3.5.4.1 release of OpenZaurus and the feeds predefined in that release. I have a few problems I can't get over at the moment; 1. The physical keyboard mapping is very poor: the letter keys are correctly mapped but most punctuation characters and numbers are mapped to letters. KeyZ seems to have no effect. 2. I installed opie-login and it seems to be run but there is no login prompt and opie is running as root. I configured the login not to be automatic and restarted Opie, but this had no effect. Now, on a reboot, opie-login seems to hang. I just get a blank screen, so I have had to remove it. 3. The Zaurus has a rotating screen that can be changed from a clamshell configuration to a tablet. On the native Zaurus O/S, changing the physical configuration also reconfigures the GUI; how can this be done in Opie? Thanks to anyone who can help. -- Oliver Elphick [email protected] Isle of Wight http://www.lfix.co.uk/oliver GPG: 1024D/A54310EA 92C8 39E7 280E 3631 3F0E 1EC0 5664 7A2F A543 10EA ======================================== Do you want to know God? http://www.lfix.co.uk/knowing_god.html _______________________________________________ Open Source User Interface and Apps built on Qt Embedded Opie mailing list [email protected] https://handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/opie
