There seems to be a number of different versions and forks around and not all of them work flawlessly. There is no gpsd in the current (0.8.4) feed, but an old version can be found at http://familiar.handhelds.org/familiar/feeds/unstable/packages/armv4l The version (fork?) bundled with gpsdrive works better for me: http://www.gpsdrive.cc/download.shtml After installing gpsd from the unstable feed I just took the binary gpsd from gpsdrive-1.32-arm.tar.gz and dropped it into /usr/sbin on the iPaq. The syntax in the gpsdrive version is different. Type gpsd -h to see how to to start. (I read somewhere, but can't find the message now, that some versions of gpsd expect certain end-of-line chars (CRLF or just LF don't remember which) to be sent by the GPS and will wait forever if EOL does not match the expected.) Some useful notes on setting up a bluetooth gps at: http://www.frontiernet.net/~beakmyn/bluetooth%20Ipaq%203975.htm Hopefully someone will provide updated binaries of gps utilities in the 0.8.4 feed soon, gpsd, gpsdrive, qpegps, roadmap (+ kismet). Not easy to cross-compile them yourself.
