I am surprised you did not try an intermediate format like vcard and ical. Using both you could take care of contacts, calendar and todos. At least that is what I did when I migrated from PalmOS to Opie (back in the day). The vcard and ical formats are well supported by scripting languages and usually you can coax things like jpilot and Opie to either export or import these formats. I noticed that you didnot employ synce at all. Any reason? > 1.
