Announcing != developing != releasing....

There are many companies that have announced products months, sometimes well 
over a year, in advance of any product appearing (and sometimes never 
appearing).

It's a sad situation that vaporware is so successful - it depends purely on 
the ability of people to overlook the realities of the market and just 
assume that an announcement is some kind of guarantee of delivery in the 
immediate future. I try very hard not to do that myself (although it's very 
tough when you see someone making the wrong decision because they were 
willing to believe sales puffery from another company).
