I certainly know how to do the shenanigans to get the various jar
files over to linux -- my prior attempts met with frustration about
some unfortunate file references (involving the cursed wrong-way-slash
character).  Pulling the jar files out of a EXE are no mean feat -- if
you don't have the right OS to hand.  The use of "\" and EXE formats
indicate (to me) that maybe CESD isn't ready to deal with
multi-platform issues right now.

I'd think it'd be unfair to even suppose that CESD might be willing to
take feedback and/or fix bugs operating in that environment ...

I've hope that someday an Android version would leverage the power of
the platform -- much as did Datebk "in the day" ...  But my message
was around my use of Palm waning due to OS-atrophy, clinging onto it
until my usage dwindled to a sole application -- but me coming to
terms with losing functionality to move to a platform that gave me
everything the T5 should've (but didn't).

While I'm sure OS/2 is a worthy platform, but it's not my choice for a
successor to PalmOS.

The Android and iPhone are, I think, the real successor platforms to
the "Palm lifestyle" -- and though they come up short in some regards,
they leap miles ahead in others -- quality is high, they sync
effortlessly, and have a thriving ecosystem.

I continue to subscribe to the right mailing lists, in hopes that I'll
be surprised some day soon ...
