So far, I've found a lot of info on various discussion groups about various re-clocking software. So many have had major problems with all of them, and often it has not solved the problem, that I will probably not try that. Apparently the high pitch 'whine' is common with the E2 and is not a 'real problem' its just annoying. So . . . since I need to change the battery, its on its way to me in the mail and I will have the back open, I'm going to try to do a fix that solved the problem - put some material, either plastic film, like a piece of transparency paper, or tin foil, or paper, between the screen and the digitizer. I need to ask some more question about how to do this, but it seems to solve the problem. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Thanks for the help.
