That was the key. As I said, it has been so long since I've had a real crash (which is why I haven't given the darn Treo up) -- I went into a panic. For some reason, BBuddy did NOT restore the preferences on the next sync after the hard reset, so I had to manually restore them and I had forgotten the basic fact that "saved preferences" and "unsaved preferences" are DATABASES - I was trying to restore them as APPLICATIONS, which BBuddy didn't object to, but it wasn't really restoring what I needed. Hit "restore database" and poof! The icons and other settings are back, though my Saved View is not...but I can recreate it. Yes between them, BackupBuddy (since 1998 or so), PrefDoctor and now Reset Doctor had saved me frequently - I just forgot how. Whew -- back to normal operations here. --- In [email protected], "karposh81" <krale-marko-81@...> wrote: > > Did you restore the files "saved preferences" and "unsaved preferences"? > When my Treo crashes and some settings in the OS are lost, i mostly > restore only these two.
