Re: Help recover from crash

this was something specific to BBuddy, which has "restore applications..." and "restore databases..." button.  Even though you can click either button after you select the two preferences files, and BBuddy appears to be handling the command, the two buttons apparently trigger different actions and only "restore databases" worked to get my preferences back.

So this discussion does not apply to restoring them via the Install tool...I know nothing about that.
