Are you running Windows 7 on the new laptop? Palm doesn't play well with 64
bits. I have to sync with DH's old computer till the powers-that-be decide
we can do this again.

Subject: [pdbk] Moving to a new computer - Datebook db issues

I'm trying to move into an new laptop. My old setup was running Palm
desktop (access ver), Pimlical, and Datebk6. I'm updated on latest
versions on all and have been syncing on my Lenovo S10e for a year with
out real problems. Now I am moving into an IBM X60 and can't get the
palm to sync. Its the second Datebook sync hangs on me, every time. I
just installed the palm desktop and nothing else. Figured I would get a
'normal' sync working before I installed all my other apps.

I've sync'ed back to the old laptop and it works. Something about the
existing combination allows the two to sync. Trying to sync on the new
freezes at the same place, second Datebook.

I've tried running I dbScan on the Datebook database and my palm resets
before it gets fully loaded.

I figured the datebook DB on the palm was corrupt. So I deleted them
both, set Desktop-overwrites-Palm on the old setup and sync'ed. It
worked. Taking this new setup to the new laptop causes it to freeze at
the same spot.

Any hints on what I should try next? I do all my school work through
this combo and would love to have it working by the time I get back.

Marvin
