Thanks. I *was* using Bluetooth for a while, but it was soooo slooow that it would get hung up or just stop more than half the time. Very frustrating, so we just switched back to DH's computer. However, I didn't know about the backup part, so maybe that was it. I didn't realize you could peel pieces off the sync.I thought it was all or nothing. Thanks again, Mary-Jeanine From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Allen Benzing Sent: Monday, May 24, 2010 6:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [pdbk] Moving to a new computer - Datebook db issues Mary-Jeanine Just an FYI - you can successfully sync between a Palm OS device and Windows 7 64 bits. The USB sync does not work, but a Bluetooth connection will. Two issues to contend with - 1) you have to jump through some hoops to set up virtual 'Comm Ports' for the Bluetooth, then that selection will become available in the Hotsync Manager. 2) Although the normal Syncing works well and at about the same speed as you're used to, the 'Backup' function is quite slow. I never actually used those backup files (there are other ways to save your data), so I just turned off the Backup Conduit. After using it awhile, I began to prefer the Bluetooth method, since the device (Treo 680) doesn't need to be physically connected. Have just moved to the Palm Pre Plus, so am on a different learning curve now.
