Google Calendary How-To

I have read & re-read the pimlical instructions, but I just don't get it. I have 10 +/- categories in pimlical. I have nothing in Google, which only shows a "General" category. Pimlical shows a G_General category. I think that each "category" in pimlical is supposed to equate to a separate calendar in Google, since there does not seem to be "categories" in Google. 

Assuming the latter to be correct, I cannot figure out if there is some way to make each of my pimlical categories create the appropriate Google calendar, or if I have to create a Google calendar for each category in pimlical. 

I tried importing a pimlical ics file into Google, but it all went into the G_General calendar, then then synced back to pimlical as duplicate entries with the G_General category. 

Can someone kindly provide simple instructions as to how to get my pimlical appts & categories synced with Google.
