I have been using Windows 7 32bit with no problems at all, either USB or bluetooth (usually USB), so it certainly is possible. The Hotsync Manager is installed to start at boot time, and has been trouble-free for me. I don't use any compatibility mode. I would just try reinstalling it (the 5.2 desktop) to be sure it is all in the proper order. --- In [email protected], Ryan <mysticryanf@...> wrote: > > you could try running the program in "compadability mode" which is where the software thinks its on another os. now this is basically a crapshoot but its worth a shot. heres what you do. 1st) right click on the program on the desktop and a window will appear. goto which on the bottom of the list which unfortunaly the ter escapes me but i believe its PROPERTIES. On the SECOND tab click on COMPADIBILTY and there will be another window. > 2ed) there will be a drop down windows which i beleive says windows vista. click on the arrow and look for WINDOWS XP SP3 and click on it. Now on the bottom area there a check box that says RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR click it then click APPLY and then OK. it should close. 3ed) run the program, a window will pop up and click on OK and it will run. NOW from this point it may or may not sync yer clie but its worth a shot. if not then i would HIGHLY recomand a netbook this this sole requirement MAKE SURE THAT THE OS IS 32bit good luck and godbless > > > -rastlin > > -----Original Message----- > From: lrobey2000 <lrobey@...> > Sent: Tuesday, November 09, 2010 12:07 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [pdbk] Win 7 and not able to sync > > > My old laptop crashed and I have a Win 7 one now. I can load the Palm desktop software on it but I can't get it to reconize my Sony Clie, so I can't sync it. I would love to be able to get it working so at least I can save my years of data. > > Thanks > > Linda > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > ------------------------------------ USEFUL LINKS AND WEBPAGES FOR PIMLICODATEBK ------------------------------------------- Post a message: [email protected] Unsubscribe: pimlicodatebk-unsubscribe-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@public.gmane.org Previous messages (view/search): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pimlicodatebk/messages Pimlico: http://www.PimlicoSoftware.com For information about Pimlical, the desktop calendar: http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/pimlicalpreview.htm To discuss Pimlical, please join the Pimlical group: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/pimlical DateBk4 FAQ: http://www.PimlicoSoftware.com/datebk4faq.htm DateBk5 FAQ: http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/datebk5faq.htm DateBk Cookbook: http://how.to/datebk-cookbook DateBk Wiki: http://oldgods.net/cgi-bin/datebk_wiki Neither Pimlico, the developer, nor the list owner is responsible for content.Yahoo!
