lost a record during sync, how to determine who did it ?

I have DateBk and P/D I enter all stuff on Palm, and, sync occasionally (either twice a day, or twice a month, or less or more frequently) this morning, after a sync, an appointment got removed/deleted from Palm, it doesn't exist anymore in P/D how do I determine what removed/deleted a valid appointment from the Palm ? how to prevent this happening again ?
