I have been able to keep a Handspring Visor alive by usign a serial cradle long after the USB cradle seemed to have end of life driver issues with XP, let alone W7. But last night I used jPilot on Linux Mint with a USB cradle for the first time. Absolutely up to date version of the OS, and absolutely no problem with synching and working on the desktop version. This is running on an old laptop that I wasn't going to upgrade from Xp to W7 or 8. And I also have an old desktop in teh same situation in my home office.
