<p><span>Thought I would post a note here also . ..up until this week I was still a die-hard Palm/PalmDesktop/DateBk6 user - had tried to move to P/D & P/A 3 years ago and gave it up. The improvements since its initial release are great. For me it was a difficult process, but only because I wanted to keep my data and my custom Icons. </span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Using P/A & P/D is pretty straight forward, although I'm still trying to sort out the powerful (and therefore complex) capabilities of P/D. The filters are the hardest to wrap the brain around, but at least there are several created for you to start with so if you leave them alone for a while & just play, it starts to make more sense. There are lots of preferences, but they are
pretty easy, you just have to go thru them & set them the way you like.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span style="word-spacing:normal;line-height:1.25;">This week I successfully transferred almost 8K records to P/D 3.3.08 and then the current ones to P/A on a Droid Turbo and am syncing using DirectSync HTTP. I'm using P/D & P/A successfully to keep my calendar up to date. Also have Tasks, Memos and Addresses in there too. Stopped parallel Palm data input - success!</span><br></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>It took quite a bit of doing and I had some starts & fits. But I kept at it and was finally successful with help from the Pimlical Yahoo User-Group & from CESD. </span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>I will say that if you
have that many records, its better to merge the History file together with the current file on the Palm using DateBk6 and then separate them back into an Archive category in P/D. Always do a backup first of them separate if you already have them in a history database on the Palm before you start. </span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Anyway, just fyi for those of you still on the fence.
