Hi, Mark, your GTD system is so similar to mine that I´m motivated to include a couple of things. The main difference is the use of categories and keywords. Sometimes I feel my day more organized if I set things to be done in the morning and others only afternoon. So, I decided to create categories like "1 Early morning", "2 Morning", "3 Lunch time", and so on. The numbers before name allows the creation of flat list filter of things to do today in an approximate sequence, even if they are not next actions of the same project. I use keywords for the contexts that can be filtered easily. About repeated events, I just change the date like you but I always include a keyword called "!Repeated" in the item. I do this because sometimes I mistakenly mark the item completed instead of changing dates. So I have a filter that shows itens with "!Repeated" keyword and completed dates. This filter is very important to find out and put these repeated itens in the right date again. Finally, about the priorities. I know there are lots of different opinions on how to set and use them but I have found a good use, at least for me! Priority 1: Urgent things (Quadrant 1) that need to be done on that date (I use calendar only for meetings). Colored in red. I can´t finish my day with red itens on my "Today" filter!!! Priority 2: For more important roles (Covey...) in my job (most important projects of the year) or personal (me and my family). Colored in fucsia. Priority 3: Less important things like administrative tasks not linked to important projects, or things that tend to accumulate and can be a problem in the future like "keep Microsoft Money updated with my bank account","backup", "organize personal e-mail"... Colored in Orange Priority 4: Pleasure! Things that I like very much to do but I couldn´t spend much time on that like surfing the web, study statistics (yes! I like it) and a lot more. Colored in green. For those of you that thik this is strange, I can say that some green itens on my "Today" list are very motivating to complete the reds, oranges, fucsias... Priority 5: Someday/Maybe No priority: only for "Simple" itens (not Todo or Task). I´d like to know the comments from you all.
