I have been changing my system away from Palm Desktop and palm applications because I still feel the Palm OS platform is dying. First step was to move calendars out into iCal. That took a couple of months as I fine tuned all my calendars but is now working fairly well, at least as well as before with Palm Desktop. Then I moved all my Palm memos out to a Yojimbo database. I installed missing synch to get the calendar and memos to synch with the treo. Some issues getting that to work consistently, there are known errors but so far it's working ok. Then I started implementing GTD more fully on my treo. I have been using LifeBalance for my GTD package but got frustrated with the difficulty in reviewing projects, esp. someday maybe projects and the problems trying to tune the actions to get them to show up when I thought they should. I found myself playing in LB rather than actually getting anythign done. I started looking at Omnifocus because the desktop version is much more robust compared to LifeBalance and it seemed it was easier to review on-hold projects. I was able to port all my LB data over to it and within a couple of hours got it working very well. I now synch it to iCal and then to the treo. SO far with about a month of time with it its working fairly well. Current system is GTD in Omnifocus and most work done on my mac desktop. Synch OF to iCal and then synch to Treo. I am now positioned to port to an iPhone easily which is where I think I will be moving after the treo. Anyway if anyone has specific questions about this option I'd be glad to explain what I ran into and how I fixed it.
