I think this is the reason I have switch back to my Palm TX. I had realized that the use of my phone as is not as good only organizing staff.
I'm new to this group but an old Palm user, I got a good start with a new Palm GTD software and less tired eyes. Maybe the departure of Ed Colligan bring back some new models of Palm TX.

My love/hate relationship with Palm tipped over to the hate side like an elephant on a see saw and then into an apathetic plateau. I believe I could probably start a group bigger than with this one with all the people who hit the official Palm Blog during that whole Treo update debacle and a lot of developers who were not psychic.

My fear that Palm would wait long enough for Apple to take away one of the few remaining strengths Palm had came true. The last handheld was the TX which was made in 2005. There is no market for handhelds Palm said which is why the iPod touch is such a dismal failure (sarcasm in full play). I still have a TX. For a time I even had a double holster for it and the iphone however the touch interface unfamiliarity wore off and I did not want to experience lack of digitizer alignment my wife experienced with her TX. It would just be too much for me.

The group still works and you can contact me directly at emailme@... if you need anything. I wish I could fight the good fight but when the company that creates the product has thrown in the towel ...

I still think one of Palm's unique innovations is bridging the pen & paper with the digital world (remember a time when every new product device wasn't a different version of the treo). The Pre to me is an even smaller treo with an even smaller hidden keyboard. It's about to launch and can't you just tell how excited all the developers are? (At least the ones still in business and not getting cease and desist orders.) I am sorry to say that with this new device they may not be playing with a full deck.
