The LifeDrive has a noticeable 'lag' to it as it loads applications and data
from the hard drive into RAM.

The hard drive is 4 gigabytes.  On the other hand, you can stick a 4G SD
card in a T|X which runs from non-volatile RAM (meaning when the battery
dies, your data is still intact) and not suffer any lag time.
