I'm sure there are many more of us! And yes, the smartphone began the PDA's demise. And Palm seemed to try to commit hari-kari as well and now seems to have abandoned ship all together. Where do her loyal followers go? While the Pre will be able to run classic Palm apps with some help, I'm not sure it can completely emulate them and it's mute at this point to me because Sprint has lousy service in the Adirondacks. Plus, to add to my dilemma, Unicel, my phone provider was bought out by AT&T and I must change phones by December. So I may not even be able to tether my T3. I rely on DateBK and Bonsai so much that I must try to hang on to them for as long as I can. It looks like I may get a great new phone with a new OS as well and just keep my T3s until they all croak! Netbooks are neat but not a replacement for my T3. Not for me. May I be forgiven, but I've even looked at an iPhone (please don't mention it to anybody...) But! If iPhone ran DateBK I'd would have brought one home! Dennis Thornton --- In [email protected], "alanportman2002" <a.portman@...> wrote: > > I feel your pain. I switched (upgraded would imply an improvement) to Vista and lost Palm Support and have been looking at the alternatives. Sadly, the smartphone killed the PDA, but I will eventually carry only one device. I looked at the Pre, but it seems like it only syncs through the air and if that is the case, any web app will do. I liked the blackberry and that is the leading contender right now. The blackberry would also only raise my Sprint bill $10.00 a month, the Pre would be more. > > I am also thinking about a netbook as a replacement for the palm. Now I'm seeing the end of an era and I have next to no idea what to do! I haven't want to give up my 320x480 screen or would have already moved to a Palm phone. I also don't want to give up graffiti! Now Palm OS is dead and I'm stumped! > > > > Did I mention that I have no idea what to do? > <...> >
