Yes, I used to be you two. The truth is that your thinking is based on old Pocket PCs and myth. If "most people" went back to Palm, Palm would have never had to make WM devices in addition to Palm OS to stay afloat. Truth is, "Most" people never look back, many have moved on to Iphones though. The problem with this perception is that most people are not hanging out on PalmOS forums, where you see people you describe. Go to a WM forum and MOST people there have owned a Palm OS device and have the opposite extreme view of PalmOS based on the monochrome model they owned a decade ago.. The truth is in today, world, Palm OS and WM are not all that different. My Tungsten and Treo are not as fast and stable as my PalmV, but those newer devices are more feature rich. Current WM devices are much faster, and easier than old PPC models. Even at 3 years old, my Axim came with a "shell" allowing me to use it just like. a Palm if I want to. I can tell you first hand, I own, and use both platforms daily. I still use my Treo as my phone. I own, Agendus, Handbase, ListMaker Phatnotes and Isilo for both platforms. I find WM no more difficult to use The way I see it, Palm came from the extremely basic simple to use, and fast, and has added both functionality and complexity. Especially those of us who use 3rd Party apps. WM came from complexity, and has worked in the other direction, to make it easier to use. My point is that today they are not all that different. Just as the perception that Palm OS is nothing more than a digital planner is dated, so is the perception here that you need a PHD to use a woefully slow WM device.. I am sorry if I cams off like a "hater" earlier. But with all the groaning and moaning over the death of PalmOS Garnet, and the talk about what Palm has that the Iphone lacks, consider WM with an open mind. If you like Palm OS WM is the best option.
