I have tried tethering with my Sprint Centro and it is very slow going. I can't imagine using that as a replacement even for dial-up. (Though I admit it has been so long since I had dial up perhaps I am wrong.) But I also have a sprint broadband card and that is superior in speed to the Starband Satellite we used to have. Only problem is that all carriers have a 5G a month limit. That is far less than what we actually use. I signed up before the limit was imposed, so far they have let it go. It is a good enough connection most times to watch a Netflix movie, but it is not as reliable a connection. Certain times a day it slows and even new construction can change or block the signal. I have a Cradlepoint router that you plug the broadband card into directly and then it is beamed to all computer in the house. If cable was available, I would sign up in a minute, it is so much more reliable and unlimited data access for the same money. Caroline Caroline [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
