I am writing this in case someone else has this problem and is trying to figure it out. (Also you should read this if you have NoteZilla.) Symptom: I did not have Note Pad or etc in the Palm Desktop. 1 I reinstalled my 4.1.4 file that was downloaded from Palm's site. This did not bring the Note Pad back. The Palm also started dying during syncing. 2. Tried to do various stuff to NoteZilla because I suspected it might be the cause of the syncing problem. (For example, if you turn off the syncing in NoteZilla, you no longer have a Memo Pad conduit.) Nothing worked. 3. Reinstalled the OEM Zire disk that was 4.1. (Note it was a copy that someone gave me.) This brought the missing icons back. 4. If there is supposed to be an entry for a Palm Photos in the HotSync Manager, it is not there. No photos show even though there is now an icon for them. The Palm Desktop offers to let me view the photos through Windows. Some are there and some are scrambled. (They are on the card.) I have not really checked into that yet. 5. Some data is missing from NoteZilla. Very strange that some notes that were changed have the changes and others do not. I figure that this must be because it got confused when I was disabling it or reinstalling the Palm Desktop. Maybe it would not have went missing if I had synced the Palm before reinstalling the desktop. It appears if you uninstall NoteZilla, be aware that you are going to have to reinstall the Palm Desktop to get your Memo Pad syncing again. NoteZilla is not the cause of my Note Pad not being there, though. It appears if you resinstall the Palm Desktop, NoteZilla and/or your Palm may lose its ability to sync until you reinstall it. -- Brenda
