It may not have been clear from my message... After I installed the file from Palm's site into the same directory as the OEM Palm Desktop disk, I was able to enable the Palm Photos conduit and successfully sync.

Of course the best way to get the photos off is to have them set to be saved to your SD card, and use a card reader. I just don't like things not working because who knows what else might have gone wrong if I did not fix it.
