I am still TX'ing for the time being (and still have a brand-new, unopened TX as a spare) but I too can see the writing on the wall.  I do want to say however that I have used both Vista and Windows 7 since their respective release dates and I am able to successfully Hotsync with both.  (with W7 64-bit I use the network hotsync via wi-fi since usb hotsync doesn't work with 64-bit)

I am keeping my eyes open for what may be a suitable replacement in the future.  I use the native Palm apps extensively, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Memos, etc.  Alan, when you moved to the Blackberry, were you able to bring over your existing Contacts, etc, or did you have to re-enter them all?  I hope I can eventually find something suitable to replace the TX because it will not last forever, and may not work with Office 2010 once it is released.  Any products made by Apple will NEVER EVER touch my hands, and I will NEVER surrender my data to the "Cloud".

Judging by the quality and quantity of the posts, this group will not be around much longer. Pity. And I blame Palm for it. I have learned quite a bit from members here, and I hope others have found my posts useful as well.

About three weeks ago I became a Blackberry user. This started when I upgraded my desktop computer and discovered that Palm does not work with Vista. Or at least, does not work easily wit Vista. I survived for several months on PocketMod (www.pocketmod.com/, http://repocketmod.com/) printouts from Time & Chaos (www.chaossoftware.com/). I have been a Time & Chaos user for more than fifteen years and would be lost without it.

My requirements for a replacement for my Zire 71 were: Synchronization with T & C, for free if possible; full qwerty keyboard; available from Sprint, the cheapest carrier for me; web enabled, optional. I really wanted a Pre. I have been a Palm user for more than ten years (anyone remember Handspring?) Every time I looked at a Pre and then a Pixii, I ended up frustrated. I am a computer support technician. I live and breathe technology. For me to pick up a phone, have trouble powering it up, trouble sorting through apps and to seem to always end up trapped in Pandora was maddening. On the other hand, thirty seconds after picking up a BB Curve, I could find everything. Change ringers, done. Take a picture, done. Check email, done. Make a phone call, done. Check the calendar, done.

So, my Palm is now sitting on its charger no longer connected to a computer, just in case I need something from it. My Blackberry is on my hip, contacts, appointments and tasks all up to date.

I blame Palm for shooting themselves in the foot with the Pre/Pixii. The fact that there is no easy way for a current Palm user to upgrade to the WebOS is about as close to a design flaw as I have seen. Add to it that I would have had to purchase the Palm legacy app for the Pre/Pixii is just insulting to current customers.

Palm, while you are fixing things, your app store is a joke. The last time I checked, it was barely viewable without first buying a phone. You did fire the idiot who thought this was a good idea, didn't you? I wanted to know what I could add to my new phone. I found a list that changed very little from the first day the phone was released. Tell me again how this is supposed to incurage me to buy a new phone?

I am not dropping my membership as I do find the posts interesting.
