for some ppl it still is
I now have an Atrix Android phone, with a custom ROM, love it.
and, I have Xoom with custom ROM, love it
and, I flash ROMs, recoveries, modified frameworks, great fun
BUT, when I want something done, I pull out my Palm, all the stuff that
really matters to me, is on the Palm
it just works, the way I want it work, every day
and, I bought enough 'spare' Palms to keep me going
in fairness, even though my Palm is my main device, I now do most of the
email on Android (K9 and Swype is hard to beat) (but Snapper (Palm) has
server search that Android lacks)
I just wish I was able to bluetooth tether Palm off Android phone, that
would be really useful
lastly, my Atrix phone is really what Palm should've been:
I can plug it into display/input device, and, it runs full Linux on full
screen, it really is the Ultimate Palm device
so, phone/pda in a pocket, get to an office, plug screen/keybd, run full
Linux on full screen on the device, pretty nifty, great toy
but my Palm still is what I depend on
