Oh, you created two items and associated each with a different store. You could have just created one item, and associated it with both stores -- HS is smart enough to handle that, and then stuff would Just Work(tm) like you expected. But if you're using the Windows Mobile version then you don't have to recreate your database: while filtering the list to search for an item, there is a checkbox that shows up just to the left of the search box. Check the box to make the Store and Category filters apply to searches. By default searching finds things even in other stores or categories, but you can check the box to make searches use the same filter as usual. --- In [email protected], "billszerlip" <billszerlip@...> wrote: > > > I shop in two different supermarkets. Milk is in aisle 2 in Store A and aisle 14 in Store B. When I'm compiling my shopping list for Store B I'll do a search for milk and two entries will show up, one in aisle 2 and one in aisle 14. I obviously don't have aisle locations memorized for every item in each store, so if the same item (milk) shows up twice with different aisle numbers, I don't know which one to choose for Store B. > > Do I need to put each store in a separate database? Thanks, as always, for your response and your great tool. > > > --- In [email protected], "chrisant_wa" <chrisant@> wrote: > > > > I don't understand what is meant by "the result will show the same item for all of the stores". Can you describe what you expect it to do, in a little more detail? > > > > The database has items. Items are associated with stores. But if an item is associated with 57 stores, it is still just 1 item. Do you mean that if you are filtering by a store, then you want to hide all other store associations in the Stores screen of the Details screen? That would defeat the whole point of the Stores screen, so if that's what you meant can you explain why that's what you wanted? Probably there is another way to achieve what you wanted. > > > > > > --- In [email protected], "billszerlip" <billszerlip@> wrote: > > > > > > I'm using HS on a Sprint Mogul. I have several stores set up in a single database. When I select a single store in which I'm going to shop, then use the search function (magnifying glass icon) to find an item in that store, the result will show the same item for all of the stores in the database. Is there any way to search within a single store only? (This happens both with and without having Per store prices and aisles checked in the Database Options) > > > > > >
