It's too early to say; I haven't even decided if I have time available to port it (actually completely 100% rewrite from scratch) for WP7, much less make a desktop version.

That's not accurate.  With additional work a handheld .NET app (or even handheld native app actually) can be ported to run on the desktop, and the work is much less than rewriting it.  But it definitely is not anywhere close to magically free.  Sad to say, but the statement "if it was written to run on the handheld, it would also run on the desktop" simply is not accurate.
