I can reproduce the behavior you describe...but only if the "Select+" checkbox is checked. If the "Select+" checkbox is not checked, then I cannot get it work the way you described. Do you have the "Select+" checkbox checked? Or are you able to reproduce the behavior with the "Select+" checkbox not checked? ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeffrey Kaplan To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 08, 2007 7:31 AM Subject: Re: [IconMgr] Treo 680 and the 5-way Hello, Chris Antos. On Sun, 7 Jan 2007 17:35:15 -0800 you said: > If they worked as you describe, then yes they would be functionally broken. However, if you hold the dpad down or right, then it continues to move the selection to the right. When it reaches the edge of the screen you should find that in fact it moves down. It does not. At least, it does not on the Treo 680. I do believe I had said that when it reaches the side it stops. This is the view with all icons, 130 per page, no Clipboard viewer. The next one with the clipboard viewer works as you say. But I only use that view when I'm copying in icons from another file. > > And in the list view (one icon per row), the 5-way scrolls the list one > > page at a time. > > Do you mean it scrolls the list one page at a time when an icon is selected? Or that generally speaking it scrolls the list? It's supposed to scroll the list when no icon is selected. That's what I've been trying to explain. It does not matter if an icon is selected or not, it scrolls a page at a time. I think I found my initial point of confusion re my saying that this has broke in 680, when it was likely the same in the 650: I was confusing the UI with the icon selector in DateBk5/6, they're almost identical, and the five-way works as expected there. Up is up, right is right, etc. And I'm using the stylus even less with the 680 than I did with the 650 because the 680's is incredibly flimsy, it bends in normal usage. -- Jeffrey Kaplan www.gordol.org The from userid is killfiled Send personal mail to gordol Notes on Fortress Construction: 7.
