Thanks for the replies.  

A little more information....I saved it origionally as a .bmp file 
and renamed it to a .imbmp file using the command prompt (as I have 
read in other threads) then transfered it to my palm.  I also 
transfered just a .bmp file.  I have read that some later versions of 
palm will change the extension of .bmp files to .jpeg and so you have 
better luck with the .imbmp files.  If there is another way to change 
the extension to .imbmp could you let me know?
