How to import from .BMP

I use sony tj-35
I follow readme.htm
Put the.BMP files in the /PALM/Programs/IconMgr directory on my
expansion card and resize to 18 x 18 .
When I import bmp file,my palm show "The file is not a proper BMP
format file."
Can teach me how to import my lovely icon .
