THeres also 2- and 1-bit, with 1 being black and white. So "16-bit" is a "level" of color. It might also depend on the context inwhich you've seen the terms.. Probably the tap'n'hold popup when you hold down an icon and optionaly convert it to different bit-depths.. My guess would be High (rez) 16 High 8 High 4 High 1 Low 16 low 8 Low 4 Low 1 Why no 2-bit option Chris? (not that anyone would use it anyway :o) Of course the palmOS color picker doesn't have room for 65k. Truthfully, my eyes can't even tell the dif b/t 8 and 16 anyway unless I'm looking at a digital photo... :o) -steveK Yahoo!
