Hello, Aranda, Xavier.
On Mon, 30 Oct 2006 16:38:09 +0100 you said:

> Lately I have been receiving polite (as the one below) and sometimes unpolite requests not to send messages with html format, in this and other forums. I know why some (many?) people has decided not to use html format for their messages, but I can tell you I have my own reasons to use them. This is not the place to discuss pros and cons, but I can tell you any time I remember it, I disable the feature before writing a message to a list like this one, but sometimes I just forget it: please be patient. I believe some of us will use html format and others won't, and I believe the easiest thing is to accept the messages as they come, not to pretend that anyone will conform to what we honestly believe is best.
Setting aside the pros and cons of HTML vs plain text, if your mail
client can send in HTML, it should have a mechanism to tell it to
specifically send in plain text to certain addresses and/or to allow
HTML for others.
If you set this to send in plain text or not allow HTML to those lists
where people have asked you to not send in HTML, then that should be
problem solved.
Note: I am not interested in discussing the pros and cons of HTML vs
plain text, nor am I particularly interested in why someone would
choose to use one over the other. All I'm doing is offering a
suggestion on how to abide by a request without having to constantly
turn something on/off for specific messages. Take it or ignore it as
you will. :)
