mixing icon databases

I have an "old" icon database, prepared on a lowres screen of a Palm M505.

I transferred this successfully to a highres Tungsten, but I would
like to use both my old icons and the new icons that came with the
standard software. Is there a way to use both or merge the two databases?

I seem to have lost the original set during importing the old icon
set, or was this the intended result of importing the old set?

Any help appreciated & have a good 2007 !
