ptoolset pro ? is hack a 'tsr'?

I've just installed ptoolset, somewhere I came across a button that, when
clicked, told me: you need ptoolsetpro for this

so what's in ptoolset pro that's not in non-pro ?

also, a dumb question:

back in the days of DOS we had TSRs like Sidekick, is a Palm 'hack' or
application like ptoolset a 'TSR', or it it something else ?

(inquiring minds would like to know)
